Alison has the most powerful voice and is kicking off our Sunday in style. As a seasoned performer in bands all over the North West, we know we are going to get perfect song choices, big uptempo numbers that send us soaring to new heights.
Alison is also a teacher and for this gig she is joined by The Music Place Choir for some Sunday Gospel songs.
Peter Hughes infectious style and compositions have featured in many Jazz festivals working with numerous bands such as Sad Cafe and Gary Boyle . His keyboard jazz heroes include Jeff, Lyle Mays, Pat Metheny Group,Herbie Hancock, Chick , Keith Jarrett and Joe Sample.
Dave Walsh is a busy working drummer and Principal Lecturer for the Jazz pathway at Leeds College of Music. He has worked with a huge array of artists including Stan Newton, Stan Sulzmann, Conrad Herwig and Alan Barnes at leading festivals internationally and he has recorded on over 60 albums.
Nick Mellor began playing as a session guitarist in th early 90’s and won Guitarist Magazine’s “Guitarist of The Year” judged by Guthrie Govan in 2002. He has since played with Don Felder,Tony Christie, Richard Fleeshman, John Miles, Kerri Ellis. He currently divides his time between teaching and gigging.
Neil Fairclough (Bass) has spent the last 8 years touring and recording with Queen and Adam Lambert, before that he was working with Brian May on other projects. Neil has also recently been touring ‘The Billy Joel Songbook’ around the uk and Europe with artist Elio Pace. Neil has also worked with Paul Carrack, Billy Cobham.Beverly Knight, Lulu, Leon Russell, Nick Hayward ,Huey Lewis, Snake Davis, Mika, Hamish Stuart, Tony Hadley, Kerri Ellis.
Kim Nishikawara is originally from Vancouver Canada and has lived in Manchester U.K. for 20 years.
He has featured on many gigs with renowned artists such as Chris Farlowe, Cliff Bennett, Herbis Goins, Alan Price, Jack Bruce, Norman Beaker, Larry Garner, PP Arnold, Mollie Marriot, Long John Baldry, The Powder Blues Band, Downchild Blues Band, Doc Fingers Real Gone Rhythm, Michael Bublé and currently plays regularly with Smooth Edge and Dominic Halpin and the Honey B’s.
